Linking to the Slacked IRC Network
If you think you would like to link to our network, please take the time to get to know us first. If we don't know who you are, we will no doubt dismiss your request out of hand.
Requirements
In order to link to the network you must have had a registered nickname for one month and you must have been active during this time (just registering a nickname and idling will not suffice).
Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL these requirements, you will only waste your time and ours.
- You MUST have held a registered nickname, which has been registered for a period of at least 30 days.
- Your server MUST be running some form of Linux/Unix/BSD (e.g. Ubuntu/FreeBSD).
- You MUST be at least 16 years of age to link to Slacked
- Your server ideally should be hosted in a reliable datacenter
- You MUST give the network administration shell access so that the IRCd can be upgraded, configuration updated, even if you are not available.

So wait? what happens after I've submitted my initial link request?
There will be a recession period of approximately 3 days whilst the admins discuss whether to allow you testlink status. If you are approved you are linked for a 30 day conditional testlink trial where we will monitor your behavior and more importantly we will monitor your server for any possible stability issues.
However circumstances which are out of yours and your hosts control will not be considered as downtime.
Once your 30 days are up there will be a further 3 day recession period whilst we vote on whether to grant you permanent linking status.
What happens if my server is denied?
If you fail your 30 day testlink then you will be eligible for a retrial consisting of a further 15 days. If it is denied again you will not be able to link to the Slacked IRC Network, sorry.
Can I have staff on my server?
During your 30 day testlink you may not have any IRC Operators other than yourself on your server. Should your server pass then you may. However the user who you chose must have been an active user on the Slacked IRC Network for at least 60 days.
We will NOT tolerate oper abuse. IRC Operators are not to interfere with channel issues unless it is having a direct negative effect on the network.
If you are accepted
If you are granted a test link for your server, you'll need to install the IRCd.
